Michigan Makers

Now in its fourth year, Michigan Makers is a weekly pop-up after-school program for aspiring makers in an Ann Arbor elementary school and its feeder middle school. We concentrate on developing collegial relationships between participants and mentors, exposure to multiple activities that welcome multiple interests and a wide range of students, and opportunities for open-ended, student-centered exploration. Our specific activities reflect the skills of our mentors and have ranged from comics creation to the aerodynamics of paper gliders, but we generally offer a combination of coding/physical computing, sewing, junk box creations, and playful kits to explore engineering, circuitry, and code.

You can learn more and keep up with our activities by visiting the Michigan Makers blog or Flickr feed.
